Trump launches Board of Peace with global leaders as US President Donald Trump addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos, claiming that his administration had helped end eight wars since returning to power. He said recent US foreign policy efforts had significantly reduced global tensions and contributed to improved international stability.
Trump Claims Reduction in Global Conflicts
During his speech, Trump stated that the global situation had been highly unstable a year ago, but recent developments had led to noticeable improvements. He claimed that diplomatic engagement and strategic decisions by the United States had helped bring several conflicts to an end, easing international pressure and security concerns.
He added that current conditions were more stable than before, reflecting what he described as the success of his administration’s foreign policy approach.
Remarks on Iran and Nuclear Facilities
Speaking about Iran, Trump referred to US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities carried out in June last year. He praised the operation, claiming it had completely eliminated Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
According to Trump, Iran is now seeking negotiations and has expressed readiness to engage in dialogue with the United States. He said this shift reflects the impact of recent US actions and pressure.
Operations Against ISIS in Syria
Trump also highlighted US military operations against ISIS in Syria, saying the actions had produced positive outcomes. He claimed that these operations had significantly reduced security threats faced by Europe, the United States, and countries across the Middle East.
He said the regional security situation had improved as a result of coordinated efforts, adding that continued cooperation remained important to maintain stability.
Official Announcement of the Board of Peace
At the same event, Trump formally announced the establishment of a new global forum named the Board of Peace. He said the platform aims to provide an effective mechanism for resolving international disputes and promoting dialogue among nations.
According to Trump, 59 countries are currently involved in peace-related efforts in the Middle East, while several global leaders have shown interest in becoming part of the forum.
Charter Signed in Davos
Following the announcement, Trump signed the charter of the Board of Peace during a ceremony in Davos. Leaders from Bahrain and Morocco were present alongside him at the signing.
After signing the document, Trump presented it to the media, after which other global leaders came forward one by one to sign the charter, formally joining the initiative.
Position on Gaza and Hamas
Speaking about the situation in Gaza, Trump warned that conditions could deteriorate further if Hamas did not abandon its weapons. He said failure to do so could worsen the crisis.
Trump added that the United States would continue working with the United Nations and other international organizations to support diplomatic efforts and maintain regional stability.
