PCB Future Stars Talent Hunt Program begins February 11 as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launches a nationwide initiative to identify and develop young cricketing talent from across the country through open trials and structured training programs.
According to official details, open trials will be held from February 11 to May 1 in multiple cities across Pakistan. The selection process will be led by a panel of experienced former international cricketers and regional coaches, including Aaqib Javed, Misbah-ul-Haq, and Abdul Razzaq, along with other regional coaching staff.
The program aims to create a transparent and merit-based pathway for young players to enter Pakistan’s professional cricket structure.
Nationwide Open Trials Across 15 Cities
The PCB will conduct open trials in 15 major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, providing young players from diverse regions equal opportunities to showcase their skills.
Through these trials, around 350 talented players will be shortlisted nationwide. Each region will select up to 24 top-performing players, ensuring balanced representation from different areas of the country.
The trials are open to emerging players who demonstrate strong technical ability, fitness, and discipline, with selectors focusing on both raw talent and long-term development potential.
Special Training Program for Selected Players
Shortlisted players will undergo a four-week specialized training camp, where they will receive professional coaching, fitness conditioning, and performance development support.
The training program will focus on:
-
Batting technique and shot selection
-
Fast bowling and pace development
-
Spin bowling skills
-
Fielding, agility, and fitness training
-
Mental conditioning and match awareness
This structured development phase is designed to prepare players for competitive cricket environments and higher performance demands.
Cash Awards and Performance Recognition
On trial days, outstanding performers will also receive cash rewards in different categories, including:
-
Best batsman
-
Best fast bowler
-
Best spinner
This incentive system is aimed at motivating young players and recognizing exceptional individual performances during the trials.
Pathway to National and Professional Cricket
The top-performing players from the training camps will be invited to National Cricket Academy (NCA) camps, where they will receive advanced-level coaching and exposure to elite training facilities.
Selected players will also be enrolled in PCB regional academies for year-round skill development, ensuring continuous improvement through structured coaching programs.
According to PCB officials, the long-term objective of the Future Stars program is to create a sustainable talent pipeline for Pakistan cricket. Players identified through this system will have opportunities to progress into domestic cricket competitions and potentially the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the future.
Strengthening Pakistan’s Cricket Development System
The PCB believes the program will strengthen Pakistan’s grassroots cricket structure by integrating scouting, training, and development into a single national framework.
By connecting regional academies, national training centers, and domestic competitions, the initiative aims to reduce gaps between youth cricket and professional platforms.
Cricket development experts view the Future Stars Talent Hunt as a strategic investment in Pakistan’s long-term cricketing future, offering structured opportunities to young athletes who may otherwise lack access to professional coaching systems.
As the program begins on February 11, young cricketers across the country are expected to participate in large numbers, marking the start of one of PCB’s most comprehensive grassroots talent development initiatives in recent years.
